Setting up your SUP

  1. Firstly, roll out your board on a suitable surface, checking there are no sharp objects underneath.
  2. Secondly, inflate the board. Double-check that the valve pin is 'up' - in the closed position - then conect the pump and hose, twisting to secure. The pump hose will open the valve when connected, allowing air to flow into the board, but the valve will re-close and retain air when the hose is disconnected. Warning - If the valve pin is 'de-pressed' (with the valve open) when pumping is initiated, the board will lose air when the pump hose is removed.
  3. Pump up to the recommended pressure for maximum performance and stability - this could take ~10 minutes.
  4. Next, add the fin by sliding it into the fin groove, and securing with the black retaining tab.
  5. Attached the leash to the tethering D-ring, located by the valve.
  6. Next, set up the paddle by slotting the 3 pieces together. Adjust the height by using the quick release clamp. If you need to tighten the clamp, open the lever and turn the lever clockwise to tighten, then close and check whether the clamp is now secure. Repeat until secure. The paddle length should be roughly 15cm more than your height.
  7. Attach the leash to your body (if conditions are relevant), and you're ready to get on the water.
  8. Always wear a buoyancy aid or personal floatation device. Ensure you are using a suitable leash for your paddling environment and conditions. Calf or ankle leashes should not be used on fast-flowing water where this is a risk of snagging or entrapment. Straight (non-coiled) leashes should be used when surfing.
